We normally have a rule that on bank holidays its better to stay in the house, or relatively local, rather than trying to battle with the traffic to get places. Today we decided to break that rule and go to Whitby for the day....seems like everyone else in the North also had that plan.
We didn't actually make it to Whitby, instead ending up at a little village called Ruswarp and spent the afternoon on the river rowing and enjoying a lovely panini in the riverside cafe. A beautiful little place to spend the afternoon and a much more relaxing way to spend a Good Friday afternoon. Today was the first time I've been to the village (other than when I was about 3 years old) and it's definitely somewhere I'd recommend you go if you just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Whitby.
I'm useless and forgot to take a picture whilst I was there so credit for the above one goes to Ruswarp Pleasure Boats, the place we borrowed a boat from.
