Song Sunday - Flashlight

Flashlight
by Jessie J

Whilst I wasn't overly impressed with Pitch Perfect 2, I did love this song from their soundtrack. It's such a beautiful song, but I feel that it's let down by the video. The ending is good, I just don't think that the clips taken from the film are the best and don't really fit. The song is beautiful though, and Jessie J sounds amazing in it.

What a Wonderful World
By Louis Armstrong

Tomorrow is my Granddad's 83rd birthday. Unfortunately he won't be with us to celebrate this year. In memory to him, my Song Sunday this week is What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. A favourite song and artist of my Granddad. We all miss you. Happy birthday!

Defying Gravity
Original Broadway Soundtrack
(all rights to the producers of the original soundtrack)

I saw Wicked this week for the first time, and I loved it! It's possibly one of the best musicals I've ever watched. Brilliant acting and singers. Brilliant storyline. Such an amazing show. I had goosebumps as they sang this song! It was such a great way to end the first half of the show. So glad I had the chance to go and see it.

Paint the Town Green
The Script

The Script are one of those bands where I just can't help but love all of their songs. This one in particular is a great little tune from their newest album. It's such a party song and makes me really want to be Irish! I can see this being played non stop on St Patrick's Day. I'd love to see them perform this live, because I think it would be such an amazing atmosphere when they did.

Song Sunday - Uptown Funk

Sunday, 25 January 2015

It's been a while since a Song Sunday, and rather than doing them every week I'm going to aim for one a month. So here goes. The first one of 2015.

Uptown Funk
Mark Ronson Feat. Bruno Mars

I LOVE this song. Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars make a brilliant team. It is so upbeat and energetic I can't help but sing and dance a long. I can't get sick of it either. I've spent weeks of listening to it over and over again at dance as we've rehearsed to it, spent 40 mins one morning constantly listening to it as I got ready for work, had it on repeat in the car for ages and I still love it. Give it a listen, I'm sure you'll be up dancing within seconds.

I See Fire
by Ed Sheeran

I tend to prefer movie soundtracks a lot more than normal chart music, and this is my new favourite soundtrack. The vocals are amazing, and I love the style. I find it very relaxing and it reminds me of a song in another film I love that never made it to soundtrack. The newest addition to my driving playlist.

A Drop in the Ocean
by Ron Pope

This song is without a doubt one of my favourite songs of all time. I first heard it on an episode of Vampire Diaries and had to download it. I love the emotion behind the song, I love Ron Pope's voice and I just love the song. When I finally get enough time in a studio on my own I have choreography in my head that I just can't wait to try out against this song.

I like to Move It - Madagascar

I like to move it, move it. I can't stop singing this song this week. We were learning a dance to Crazy Stupid Love at rehearsal the other night and, after a great suggestion from Victoria, we ended up practicing to this and it's never left my head since. Great song to make you happy, and a great film also.

Ed Sheeran - Don't

I'm not the biggest Ed Sheeran fan, I tend to find it takes me a while to get into his songs when they get released and this one was no different. It grew on me at dance as we did a core exercise routine to it each week and has now become my core work song. If I'm doing core exercises in the house, at dance or at the gym this is the song I use for motivation.

Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass

I love this song so much at the moment. I constantly have it on in the car and sing a long to it all the. She made it to No1 in America, and I'm pretty sure she'll make it to No1 in the UK this weekend too. Great song from someone I'm sure the UK will be hearing more from in the future.
