Day 4 - Spending time with my boyfriend

I love Fridays, not only for the fact it's the weekend, but because I get to see my boyfriend. We've been together 3 and a bit years having met at a party when we were students. He's really into health and fitness so is really supportive of me on my fitness journey as well as everything else I do. He definitely makes me smile on a Friday when I see him but every other day too.

Day 3 - Buying stuff for my new home

Buying my only home is definitely going to be my biggest achievement this year but as it's a new build it's taking ages to be ready. To keep myself excited I keep buying the little things I need and today's new purchase was my microwave. I've been eyeing up this microwave for ages but since it was on offer this week I couldn't turn it down. Can't wait to be in and finally able to use it!

Day 2 - Girlie times with my Mum

My Mum is definitely one of my best friends and the time we spent together is something we both enjoy. Tonight we're having a girls only night at a concert seeing Shane Filan on his debut tour and we both can't wait. Bring it on!

100 Happy Days...Day 1

Tuesday, 25 February 2014

I'm feeling a bit down this week, so to try and keep my spirits up I would start the 100 Happy Day challenge. For those of you who don't know what the challenge is, basically you take a picture of something that makes you happy every day for 100 days and share it with your friends. I've seen a few friends do this on Instagram/facebook so thought I'd give it a go on here.

So Day1...The return to ITV2 of the Vampire Diaries!

I've been looking forward to this day for such a long time. Having been missing out on my weekly Vampire fix since before Christmas I'm super excited to relax in front of the TV tonight after a long day at work and catch up on the rest of the story. Having this back on TV definitely gives me something to look forward to each week, and I might work a little bit harder each week at the gym if I know I have to be home in time to watch it.

So here is my first happy picture...

Have a good Tuesday everyone!

February Goal Progress

Sunday, 23 February 2014

As February 2014 draws to a close, now seems like a good time to reflect on my goals for the year and plan for March

Number 1 - Complete the operational level of my CIMA qualification

So far achieving this is going quite well. I found out in January I passed two of the operational exams, and I'm started college at the beginning of February for the third and final one. My exam is arranged for May so I've started studying early, fingers crossed my motivation will remain and I'll pass with flying colours.

Plan for March: Finish college course and continue with studying. Ideally knowing some of the formulas without the book would be great.

Number 2 - Move into my own home

So in November 2013, I put down a deposit on my new home. It's a new build flat on a nice little estate only a ten minute drive from work, my boyfriend, the gym, my friends and town. Much better than the really long journeys I have now to get anywhere. As it's a new build it's taking ages to be ready but hopefully by June, at the latest, I should be in.

Plan for March: Continue to buy the little things I need for move in day and visit the building site regularly to see how it's coming along.

Number 3 - Loose a stone in weight

Like many other people I made the New Year resolution to loose some weight, ideally a stone. I'm trying to do this healthily, no crazy diets or starving myself, just watching what I eat and doing more exercise. I enjoy dancing and take a contemporary class once a week with a group of very talented dancers, this has definitely kept me motivated in my aim to loose weight with the hope that it'll  help me improve my skills and techniques

So far I've lost 5lbs since the beginning of the year...the weight might not be going fast but at least it's going and hopefully won't come back.

Plan for March: Ideally loose another 3lbs by watching my food and continuing with my exercising.

Number 4 - Get my splits on both legs

I've never been flexible, so this is a big challenge for me but something I've always wanted to do. As of now I'm so close to the splits on my right leg, but some way to go on my left. Going to continue stretching as much as I can and hopefully I'll be working on my middle splits by the end of the year.

Plan for March: Continue stretching both legs and hopefully get my right split by the end of the month.

Number 5 - Learn to cook

Firstly, just to clarify I can cook. My aim is to learn to cook more than just the student cooking I have experience of. I live with my parents so I don't often have to make food, but if I'm ever asked to make some food it normally consists of stuff from a packet I can shove in the oven or chicken fried in a pan with some sauce and some pasta/rice. I'd like to be able to have someone round for dinner in my flat and by proud to say I made everything from scratch by myself. My boyfriend will likely be my Guinea Pig whilst I'm learning but hopefully this will keep us both on track with achieving our fitness goals.

Plan for March: Keep an eye out for recipes to try when I get into my house and practice as much as I can whilst living with my parents.
